Future – ready Social Care: Social Care Forum in Abu Dhabi. The social sector faces similar challenges and opportunities worldwide. It is essential to provide platforms for stakeholders to gather, discuss sector trends, build networks, and engage in mutual learning to tackle evolving challenges. On day one Dr Sarah Carlick was invited to lead an interactive session alongside H.E. Dr. Layla Abdulaziz Alhyas (Executive Director of Family & Child Welfare Sector, DCD), Dr. Josh Hjartarson (Global Leader for Human and Social Services in Deloitte)
Youth Development and Wellbeing exploring how young people can be empowered as co-designers of the tools and systems intended to keep them safe, especially in a digital world. From increasing accessibility and trust to ensuring cultural and generational relevance, she discusses how co-design approaches treat youth as equal partners in building technologies that support resilience and well-being.
On the second day of the 2nd Social Care Forum in Abu Dhabi, highlights included a keynote on Digital Safeguarding and expert interview with Dr Sarah Carlick, Director of MeSafe, renowned UK-based, international speaker and the founder of two leading safeguarding companies. This discussion explores how we can create safe digital pathways: insights from academic and practice-based research with a focus on empowering children, young people and families through early intervention.
